Shorts: Earth Folio

£15.00

Earth Folio invites audiences to experience plants not as silent backdrops but as co-authors of history. Across seven shorts spanning Estonia to Japan, Mexico to China, filmmakers engage with botanical presences in ways that collapse the boundaries of science, art, and myth. Highlights include Magdalena Bermudez’s Parallel Botany (USA), where real fruit and botanical illustrations interlace to reveal perception’s layered surfaces, and Tang Han’s Ginkgo and Other Times (China), a meditation on resilience through one of Earth’s oldest living species. From forests where wilderness feels fictional (Scenic View, Finland) to clay workshops in Jingdezhen (Porcelain Perfect, China), the programme asks us to reconsider how plants live, and with us. Together, these films form a folio of voices: vegetal, mineral, human, and more-than-human. Curated as an invitation to reimagine coexistence, Earth Folio frames cinema itself as a medium for ecological listening.
